All Youth Are Sacred is a narrative power building initiative that addresses the way we talk about and approach youth incarceration. This initiative is spearheaded by the organizations within the California Alliance for Youth & Community Justice. CAYCJ exists to lift up successful stories of our work and our young people as sacred. We stand as counter narratives and our presence humanizes us and asserts our right to live with dignity, humanity and support.
Campaign & Program Development Intern
Urban Peace Movement (UPM) builds youth leadership in Oakland to transform the culture and social conditions that lead to community violence & mass incarceration in communities of color. UPM’s model of “Healing-Centered Youth Organizing” supports young people to feel self-confident & hopeful while empowering them to work for healing, social justice, and a brighter future for all!!
In 2021, BAY-Peace launched the Youth ARTS (Addressing Real Traumas and Solutions) Initiative. Evolving out of our Drop the MIC campaign, it’s grounded in the Youth Participatory Action Research. The goal of this initiative is to use YPAR methodologies to implement youth-led efforts that heal trauma, prevent violence and build community through grassroots organizing, community based art & advocacy

The Black Immigrant Youth Project is a pilot initiative that aims to create a platform for youth voices and experiences to be heard in the ongoing struggle towards achieving racial and immigration justice. We implore how we, as a community, can support and uplift one another's voices and experiences while bridging the gap between Black Immigrant and Black American Youth in the Bay Area.

The Youth Law Academy is a three year program for Oakland high school students designed to build confidence and understanding of the path to college. Recognizing the need for more diversity in the legal profession we ultimately hope to inspire our students to seek a career in the law for the betterment of our community.

The CSSSA Writing Program offers personalized and interactive workshops for approximately seventy talented and motivated young writers. A faculty of four professional writers and educators guide and instruct students in the techniques of fiction, poetry, non-fiction, and dramatic writing.

The Oakland Youth Commission (OYC) gives youth a voice within city government. Formed in 1985, OYC develops young leaders in Oakland to engage with city affairs and advise City Council and the Mayor on youth priorities.

Summer Leadership Institute (SLI) is a launchpad for bold leadership and lasting community. SLI equips young people with the tools, connections, and confidence to level up their leadership. And when the program ends, the journey is just beginning. Alums join a powerful network of changemakers and movement builders, ready to support and uplift each other for the long haul.
